My favorite photo from Sunday!

So Monkey fell asleep on my last night and for some reason I just wanted to cuddle her so I didn't get to post like I wanted too!  This will be a short post!  I just did my Now to WOW photos for my other blog and once I cropped and edited this photo I loved it!!!  I just thought I would share!!!!

Happy Easter!

So I need to format my memory card!  I am missing about 10 photos from Easter of Monkey in here Easter dress and of her getting her Easter present from the Easter bunny.  I will get them off the camera later!  We had a great day for Easter, it was so nice we didn't have to wear coats outside.  It only took Monkey a minute to understand how to hunt for eggs!  But thanks to our cousin Jim Bob she had good help! 
If you handed her an egg she would set it down, put her basket down and than pick it up and put it in.  She would than pick up the basket put it on her arm and go!  All 4 kids raked it in!!!!

 Monkey than got rides around the house from Skinny and Minny!!!  She loves to do that!!!

 Daddy and Monkey than went outside an cleaned up all of her outside toys so she could play on them!!!

Happy Birthday to my God mommy!

Dennis and I's niece is Monkey's godmother.  She is one of the proudest teenagers around!  She loves monkey so much and spoils her rotten.  Of course we spoil her just as much!  Well today is her sweet 16th birthday!!!!  So of our favorite pictures from Easter last year are with her!!! Since I am on my laptop I don't have the newest pictures of them together, so these will have to do!  So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lexi from all of us!!!!

A Nap with Daddy

So I get home the other day and Dennis had picked up Monkey from daycare for me.  When I walked in the door I expected to see her come bounding around the corner with her big old smile.........but it was quiet, not a word, no sound of her little feet on the floor..................daddy and her were sound asleep!  So of course I quietly crept to the back room and grab the camera!

A Conversation with LuLu

So we got out of school today at 11:30 because of SNOW!  Yes its crazy, but we have about 4 inches of snow on the ground and its still snowing!  It did sleet for a little while, but its back to snow.
While I worked in the basement in my studio Monkey napped and than when she woke up she came down to see me.  So gave LuLu, her rocking lamb kisses and hugs while down there.  It was too cute, I had to take pictures!!!  While I was taking pictures she had to tell LuLu a looooooooong story!

Wishing for warmer weather.

Less than a week ago the sun was shining and we were wearing short sleeved shirts!  Now we are in the winter weather advisory with a possibility of 5 inches of snow and sleet!!!  What the??????  So, I decided to put these pictures up I took last week.  We went for a walk with grandma and stopped at our cousins' house to have a little fun in their big wheels car!!!  So here is Monkey and I dreaming of being able to walk outside without coats and hoping that we don't have an April snow day!

Live from the Iowa FFA Convention!

So Monkey and I have been at the Iowa FFA Convention for the past two days.  My brother is a state vice president.   I got to introduce my little brother for his session and watch Judson Laipply and the Evolution of Dance!!!!  Way fun!!!   Today my mom and dad gave away the Featherlite Trailer they donated for an FFA fundraiser and Taylor gave his farewell speech as South Central District State Vice President.  He did a WAY awesome job!!!  (English teacher ignore the terrible grammar usage)    Monkey was even featured in one of the slide shows during session 2 this morning!  So uncle Tay came now become a normal college student!  No more FFA every morning, noon and night!!  He can visit us on the weekends!  Like I said in the speech, we are very proud of you!!!

We also got our very first hair cut by Aunt Tara!!!  Now our very fine hair is all even!  We were a pretty good girl on grandma's counter!!!

So its Aunt Tara's birthday.  We won't say how old she is, but she is younger than me so its ok!  I just thought I would start a tradition on the blog of wishing our aunts, uncles, gmas, gpas, cousins Happy Birthday on our blog....next will be Monkey's cousin and godmother on the 21st!  She will love that shout out!!!

The ball

Monkey's new obsession........the ball!!!  It doesn't matter if it is a basketball, football, or just a beach ball she loves them!!!  She loves to kick, throw, bounce and chase after her ball!!!  Sometimes its the simple things that gives us the most joy!

It's Grandpa B's big 50 birthday today!!!!!  If I was really thinking I would have scanned some old pictures and put all of Monkey's birthday and this year's Christmas on this computer....however it don't have them on my laptop!  I did find 1 old photo on my flash drive.  So here are the photos from this computer of Grandpa B and Monkey.

Helping Daddy Wash the Truck

Today was a beatiful day outside.  Monkey and daddy washed the truck.  What a big helped, she knew exactly what to do!  Of course the wind was a bit much, but we had lots of fun outside today!!! Than our cousins came over and than we really had fun!!!

Morning Coffee.....I Mean Mt. Dew with Grandma!

Monkey see Monkey do.......we wanted to drink Diet Dew with Grandma these morning, and unlike mommy grandma doesn't say no!!!!!!  We get to spend ALL weekend with grandma, she came up to visit and watch me so mommy and daddy can go to the cities to a snowmobile show.  Yes I know that the snow is all gone, well mostly gone, but we have to look at next years models!  I just want to go the the Mall of America!!!!

Splish Splash I wasn't supposed to take a bath!

So Monkey got to get in the tub last night right after supper because she wore more of the baked beans than she ate!  She loves the tub.  I don't know if its the water or the fact that her voice bounces off the walls so nicely, but she never wants to get out!  Last night was no exception.  She sang, she talked, she screamed, she admired herself in the metal and than she splashed.............not just some little splashes, although they started out tiny, BIG BOLD LOUD splashes.  She ended up soaking me to the bone!  I didn't know I was going to take a bath outside the tub!  So we had to get out, mostly because it was time to get out, but partially because there was as much water outside the tub as in!  Oh it was the end of the world!  But luckily a hug from mommy and the site of her M-n-M purse made it all better!

Things I want Monkey to Know...........

I love English teachers!  They inspired me to write this list!   Some seem a bit cliche, some are serious and some are silly, but there is a time and place for all three!

My Sweetie Pie!

1.  How to bake cookies from scratch!
2.  How to quilt and the history of quilting in our family.
3.  How much her daddy and I love her!
4.  How truly blessed we are that we have her!
5.  That she has her daddy face, her mommy's hair and her great grandpa's ears.
6.  I want her to know her grandparents like her father and mother knew their grandparents.....life it very short and she needs to spend time with them!
7.  To know that no matter what her mommy says she can be a cheerleader or go out for band as long as she is an active member of society!  (That one was really hard for this volleyball coach to write)
8.  That every thing really does happen for a reason, we might not like it but it does!
9.  I want her to be able to laugh at herself!
10.  I want her to know her history.......the stories of painting churches and moon shine!  What I wouldn't give to hear both of my grandpas tell me stories again.
11.  Its ok to get a B, even if you get straight A's, sometimes that B is better than any A you ever got.
12.  There is a such thing as happy accidents, heck there was a whole art movement based on it.......life gives you lemons make lemonade!!!!
13.  Sometimes staying home on a Saturday night with your family is better than going out with your friends!
14.  That there was life before remote controls, satellite dishes, cell phones and the internet!
15.  Saturday mornings are for cuddling and staying in bed for a little while longer, dishes and chores will be there when you get out of bed!
16.  A good book is always better than a good movie-even if her daddy thinks its the other way around!
17.  Don't be afraid to stand on your own two feet, but know when to ask for help!
18.  What an encyclopedia and dictionaries are!
19.  That before Ipods there were records, 8 tracks, cassettes and cds!
20. Turn your buffer on......know when to say something and when to just shut your mouth!

Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar?

All of my nieces and nephews know where to go to treats at my house.  Well, nowMonkey does too!  She got out granola bars, KitKats, and cookies!!!  She had them everywhere!  Actually there are still crumbs on the floor that I didn't get too!  I took quite a few pictures so instead of posting the photos I decided to make a cute little Smile Box Scrapbook!  Smile Box has so many different choices, I use it on my Blue House Studio blog for all of my art work.
